VISIONS OF THE FUTURE IN LITERATURE

VISION OF LITERATURE IN THE FUTURE
(play the video 'introduction to future literature' above)

At the beginning, I believe the future literature will be repetitive. Literature is timeless, but due to demands of consumers, writers and poets might be expected to create similar pieces of work, over and over again by the publisher. The poem below tells us about that kind of future literature.
Heavy sigh was released,
As i skim through another book,
Another story,
Another reality
But nothing has changed,
Or has it?
I could not tell,
It all looks the same to me.
Living like a bird,
In an open cage,
Could not take a flight,
Or death awaits.
It was horrific,
A cold blood murder
How they kill the creativity,
For the sake of money.
Crumpled papers,
Wasted ink,
I need to get to work,
The one they asked of me.

Vision of literature in the future would be much different from what we are accustomed to now. For instance, everything will be in digital form. No more printed books, and inks. This future can be considered quite frightening to the extent that literature was claimed to be dying.
But how true is this statement?

CONCLUSION FROM THIS EXHIBITION
Closing remarks
The future is quite fascinating, it has yet to occur, but we can easily predict and vision a picture of however we want it to be. Be it something as bright as the sunlight, or even darker than the gargantuan terrifying black hole. Everything in the frame is up to our imagination.

Through this literary exhibition, we have come up with the answer for the statement that ‘Literature is Dying’.

LITERATURE IS NOT DYING

According to Alvin Kernan, author of ‘Death Of Literature’, what he meant by literature dying is the essence of literature changing from just the creativity of the author to a new form that leads to multiple interpretations. This change is due to modernism that we are facing. In the future, we expect work of literature that touch upon, globalism, climate change, terrorists, the digital labyrinth.

Nowadays, lots of visions of the future show that we will be living in a dystopian world controlled by the capital. However, in my opinion, the situation mentioned before is changeable if only our society has finally come to the realization and start to do something. In the future, there will be a lot of mesmerizing and more advanced technology created as we humans keep on moving forward and will always try to find new improvements that can be made.
